Simon Roses’ work is inspired by the exploration of our Inner and Outer worlds. 

He utilises the camera to create an entry point, from which to explore the relationship between the material and ephemeral, and how this informs our reality.

Todays world seems to be one of ever evolving disconnection from Nature, each other and our inner selves. A plethora of technology, full of various forms of media is vying for our attention and time, in a fast paced hectic society. 

In the Abstract Photography work Simon presents, he invites a reconnection to ourselves. 

His process is meditative in form. Through his works he encourages a slowing down. He invites us to explore our place in the world, our Interconnectedness to one another and to Life. 

To view the works as a somatic experience that allows a slower more careful observation of what is present, to reveal a fuller picture, through both emotional and cognitive exploration. He points to a place of stillness, from where we are unrestricted, independent and free to form a fresh relationship with what lies before us. 

Using various materials in studio, he creates pathways, vectors, tangents, shadow, colours, light, shadow and textures that take us on a journey, where Life’s beauty and arts relationship with it are explored. 

He wishes to convey a sense of marvel at Natures limitless forms of beauty, that are forever manifested. When we simply take the time, and allow a space in which to observe and witness, the kaleidoscope of light and colour, that is Life’s play, eternally resplendent.
