Nissa Kinzhalina is an artist and designer whose practice unfolds at the intersection of collectible furniture, sculpture and architectural research. Rooted in the spatial experience of the Kazakh steppe, her work investigates how vastness, void and internal orientation shape human perception of form and space.

Nissa approaches the object as a psychological and cultural structure rather than a purely functional artifact. Through tension lines, volumes and structural emptiness, she explores themes of self-identification, memory and the relationship between body, space and origin. Her objects often exist in a liminal state between sculpture and design, where function becomes secondary to spatial and emotional resonance.

Working primarily with metal and architectural materials, she develops collectible pieces that engage with weight, balance and latent movement. In recent years, her works have been increasingly presented within institutional and curatorial contexts, where the objects appear as autonomous entities within the exhibition space rather than as utilitarian products.
