Dominic Kießling studied industrial design in Dresden (Germany), where he was born in 1984. After his studies in 2009 he  joined a Berlin-based studio for motion and stage design, called Pfadfinderei, where he was working as a creative director and has been responsible for the visual appearance of big international touring music shows and brand events. In 2019 he went back to Dresden and started an artistic self-study focusing on more analogue fields of visual art, experimenting with a wide range of materials and techniques. His self-study finally transitioned into a professional artistic career in 2025 when he started many global collaborations with curators and promoters from many different fields. His installations made of foil were shown at Chicago Architecture Biennial, the Marisfrolg Pavilion in Shenzhen and at Fondation Galeries Lafayette (Paris).

"I create artworks with minimal technology and minimal design. I want the physical process to determine the final shape. My aim is to set the perfect stage for physical forces to perform. I design experiments rather than artworks." Dominic Kießling is a multi-disciplinary visual artist best known for his large scale kinetic installations made of foil and wind. In his most recent practice he is transforming pieces of his installations into new pieces of art by melting them onto sheets of aluminum.
