Lives and works in Madrid, Spain
Belén Barbero is a visual artist and multidisciplinary designer.
She ran her own bridal fashion house from her atelier in Madrid for more than fifteen years. She later chose to leave behind the utilitarian function of the garment to focus on the material itself, finding in that shift the creative freedom she had long sought.
What began as an introspective process of artistic exploration gradually evolved into a coherent and singular body of work. Her practice explores the poetics of the tactile and the tension between concealing and revealing, born from an intimate search for (re)encounter through vulnerability. Her work orbits around the liquid, the translucent, and the infinitely small as thresholds toward the immeasurable.
