Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY
Wayne Adams creates installations and paintings that investigate the intersection of industrial materials and spiritual inquiry. Working across aluminum foil sculptures, process-based paintings, and mixed-media works, Adams explores how everyday materials from food service foil to house paint carry both utilitarian and sacred resonance. His recent exhibition at Intersect Art Center paired large-scale aluminum foil installation Parakletos with figurative painting, examining themes of service, consumption, and divine presence through material contradiction. Adams’ practice engages contemporary painting discourse while drawing from theological investigation, creating works that sustain dialectical tensions between the industrial and the sacred, the systematic and the gestural. Based in Brooklyn and exhibiting nationally, his work participates in conversations around labor, materiality, and spiritual practice within contemporary art.
